SAPC takes services to the profession at the Clicks and Gauteng Pharmacist’s Assistants conferences

On invitation from the organisers of the 11th Clicks Annual Healthcare Conference held at Emperor’s Palace on 1-3 November 2017, the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) attended the event to exhibit services we offer to the profession, provide client services that pharmacists and pharmacy support personnel usually get from our customer contact centre and the walk-in centre at Council offices, as well as remind conference delegates of the looming 3rd National Pharmacy Conference scheduled for 3-6 October 2019. The SAPC is also grateful to Gauteng Health for the invitation to participate at the Gauteng Pharmacist’s Assistants Conference held on 10 November 2017 at the St. George’s Hotel and Conference Centre, where the Registrar & CEO, Mr Amos Masango, delivered a keynote address on the incoming pharmacy support personnel qualifications.
Staff at the SAPC exhibition stand provided information and training to professionals who visited the stand, and also helped with the resolution of queries from pharmacists and pharmacy support personnel and updating of contact details. Most pharmacy support personnel at the conferences had queries revolving around the issuing of new registration cards to replace those reaching expiration dates, as well as follow-up on applications and the issuing of certificates.

The Office of the Registrar wishes to assure pharmacy support personnel that the SAPC is finalising the printing of these cards, and to deliver the majority by January 2018. Pharmacy support personnel are urged to upload their head-and-shoulder photographs and update their details, including the courier addresses for delivery during office hours to ensure timeous delivery of registration cards.
