The preregistration year for interns follows immediately after completion of four years’ full-time study leading to the awarding of a BPharm degree. The introduction of the online preregistration examination will speed up processes and enable the intern to make informative and timely career decisions.
Council has implemented the online preregistration examinations for pharmacist interns to improve the efficiency of the examination process and to ensure the quality of the examinations.
The benefits of the online examination system for both Council and the intern are as follows:
- The creation of a bank of questions will mean questions are readily available for the examinations to be conducted more frequently than at present.
- Examination questions will be analysed for difficulty so that Council can proactively apply corrective measures.
- The examination results will be released earlier so that interns are able to promptly make necessary arrangements to progress with their careers.
- The examination results will include the intern’s performance per examination section so that they know the areas they need to improve on.
